Oh I like this one. Now that we have removed stuff from our life, that we are resisting to engage in stuff that is not good or serving, now we get into action. It is time to fill the space that opened up in our lives with joy and fun. And what could be better than engaging in something good? Doing good, for yourself and others?
So my proposal for you this lonesome Christmas is: vow yourself into doing good. And doing good does not necessarily mean you have to give money, you can give everything: money, time, an ear. You can search for charity organizations online, and donate some money. This does not cost you anything of your time. But as I guess time is not the problem especially this year, why not doing something more, engaging more deeply?
You can donate your time, by helping others. Do you have an old neighbor? Maybe you want to ask them if you can do some shopping for them. It’s nothing special, and you are doing it anyway. It does not even require physical contact.
Or you can lend someone your ear. When was the last time you really did listen so someone that needed an ear? I mean really listen. Not giving advice, not engaging in any way to change things. Just listen and understand. Support by giving love, nothing else. For elderly people, this is very often the only support they need. Love. And also for others in need, a friend that needs to talk, a friend you did not speak for too long. Call them up. And listen. Give love.
I am sure you are creative and there will be a lot of things coming to your mind you could engage in. Promise yourself to do that this year. And I guarantee… you will feel ways less alone than you did before.
Lots of love,
Tina
